Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the best Daddy a little boy could ever ask for. Henry thinks you hung the moon and the stars and he's a very blessed boy to have you there to show him the way. Thank you for loving him, for teaching him about God and how to love his Mama. Thanks for all that you do. Happy Father's Day!

Mike all scrubbed up and ready for the delivery room.  He told me he was so excited to finally meet our baby.  We had no idea boy or girl, but he didn't care as long as the baby and Mama were ok.  I'll never forget the look on his face or the happiness in his voice when he first saw our baby, our son.  Of course that could be because I still hear that same zeal when they are reunited after even a short amount of time. Seriously, these two.

At 6 weeks old, Mama had to go back to work so this was Henry with his Daddy on his first day to stay with Nanny.

Henry had eye surgery when he was 20 months old.  Mike was Super Daddy and handled all the icky stuff way better than Mama did.  God made Daddies to be tough for their kid's sake and to pick up the slack where Mama's just can't.

Henry and Daddy playing in the bounce house for his 2nd birthday.  Mike always jokes that after having Henry, he finally understands why people don't wait until their late 30s to start having kids.

If Mike had a dollar for every time Henry said "Play with me, Daddy!" he could retire early. Henry loves to play with his Daddy, his built in playmate. Daddy lets him get messy and loud, just what boys do.
Daddy and Henry at the LV Fire Station Open House.  Mike was so excited to take Henry and show him the fire trucks, ambulances and even the Care Flight helicopter.
Henry's first day of preschool was one that came with anxiety for all 3 of us.  Daddy might have been nervous for Henry, but he told him about all of the fun he would have at school and that he would make lots of new friends.  Mike still drops Henry off at school each day and sometimes Henry needs a little encouragement to get the day started, but he's always excited to tell Daddy about all the fun stuff he did at school that day.

This one was taken Mother's Day weekend and I smile every time I see it.  I love these two more than I could ever express and it gives me a glimpse of what life is all about.
