22 down

Just a few things that I want to remember later on down the road....

New words recently:
yellow
bue (blue)
bish (fish)
Elmo (He has a blanket from his great Granny that has Elmo on it and I'm afraid to think about what's going to happen when "Elmo" needs to take a trip to the washing machine....)
appy (means that he wants you to pick him up and put him on the couch, chair, etc)
Where it go?
cereal
fuit (fruit)
spoon
nack (snack)
bite
bath

He recently started calling his sitter, Deb, "Nanny". It's very precious to see how much he adores her. I think she's kinda sweet on him too. He's also started calling his D-Dad (his great granddad) D-D. It's so sweet!

Henry loves to dance and has a few signature moves that we like to call the sprinkler and the door knocker. When music is on, he loves to spin in circles and can do this for a few minutes at a time without falling over. Makes me dizzy just thinking about it. Ha!

He's really into playing pretend, from pretending to cook to fake snoring. His fake snore sounds like a poorly animated cartoon character but it's really funny.  He LOVES to "cook" in the kitchen and is always asking "to see" when we're making supper. He knows how to do the motions to "If you're happy and you know it" but refuses to do it on command. As with anything, it has to be Henry's idea.   Peek a boo is still his favorite game and he's recently learned to cover his eyes with his hands.  When you leave and come back to the room he's in, he welcomes you with the sweetest little "HI!" as if you've been gone for days. I love his zeal for the presence of others and I pray that he is always  delighted and that he will truly love people that are around him.

He's definitely following his Daddy's footsteps when it comes to doing new things. Mike has always been a cautious person and Henry is very much the same. He wants to see someone else do it first and make sure they are ok before he will even attempt something new. He avoided his 4 wheeler like you wouldn't believe but then he saw cousin Olivia get on it and then he just had to try it. He enjoyed it but still doesn't have much to do with it unless she's riding.  I secretly hope he grows out of that so I have a daredevil to ride roller coasters with and do fun stuff that Daddy doesn't have interest in.  He loves to climb and get into stuff so there's hope for the future. :)

Some days are fantastic, but some are harder than others. He's a challenge to figure out sometimes but that's half the fun of being a parent. You figure out a struggle and then it's on to the next thing. He's still a fantastic sleeper, eats great and is usually a really happy kid.  We think he's going through a growth spurt right now though as he's ravenous hungry all the time and if he's not eating, he's wanting sleep or he's a little grouchy.  Kinda sounds like a teenage boy instead of a toddler.

We're just under 2 months until his 2nd birthday. I still cannot believe he's been with us that long..  Although I'm really bummed about him not being a little baby anymore, I really am enjoying seeing the little person that he's becoming. His personality is entertaining and he's such a sweet kid who gives hugs and loves to be the center of attention.  I love it when he blows kisses and says "I lub ew!"  The Lord has blessed us immensely and I'm so very proud to be Henry's Mama!
